melodiesofloveThe summer heat settles into a warm, breezy evening. There’s no shortage of dance floors set up along the streets, with live bands playing for the amusement and entertainment of the masses.
Ganeshan meets you on the street you specified, dressed in a pair of tight black pants and a ruffled shirt. He offers you his arm.
”MAGNIFICENT! I CANNOT WAIT TO DANCE WITH YOU. WHAT KIND OF DANCE SHOULD WE DO?”
You look out at the different dancing squares set up along the street. Hmmm, which one should you join?

Ganeshan meets you on the street you specified, dressed in a pair of tight black pants and a ruffled shirt. He offers you his arm.

Luckily for you, Ganeshan is in his element here. He takes the lead, and with his guidance, you get swept along into the dance almost effortlessly. You feel your heart racing- is it the physical exertion, or the close proximity to your Sempai?

Luckily for you, you’re no dancing newb! You and Ganeshan both get into position, and the dance starts without a hitch. You twirl and dip, and soon enough, the two of you are in the center of the floor, surrounded by onlookers who are majorly impressed with your fancy footwork. As the dance ends, someone tosses a rose that Ganeshan catches in his mouth. The two of you finish and take a bow to the sound of applause.
”THAT WAS INCREDIBLE! I HAVE TROUBLE FINDING SOMEONE WHO CAN KEEP UP WITH ME, BUT YOU REALLY KEPT ME ON MY TOES!”

You take a seat at a nearby cafe and order some drinks as you catch your breath from the dance. As you relax, Ganeshan strikes up a conversation.
“THIS WAS FUN. I ENJOY GETTING TO USE MY DANCER SKILLS FOR MORE THAN JUST SUPPORT IN BATTLES.”
Ah, so that’s how Ganeshan got all those killer moves!
“THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO THINK USING JOB SKILLS OUTSIDE OF BATTLE TO DO NORMAL ACTIVITIES IS ‘CHEATING’. WHAT DO YOU THINK?”
"-Yeah, kinda...

B. Floss

Ganeshan gives it a try. You pause your own masterful flossing to help correct his hip-and-arm swinging, and soon enough, the two of you are Flossing so hard your dentist’s gums bleed! How trendy and topical!
Ganeshan laughs as you pepper in some of your other cool moves. It may not be the most dignified, but you guys are having fun.
Your jam fades out and an annoying ear worm starts up. No thanks! You exit the dance floor and take a seat on a nearby bench to wait for cooler tunes. As you do your best to avoid listening to the song, Ganeshan strikes up a conversation.
“THIS WAS FUN. I ENJOY GETTING TO USE MY DANCER SKILLS FOR MORE THAN JUST SUPPORT IN BATTLES.”

C. Box Step

Ganeshan notices your hesitation and offers to take the lead. You guys get to stand close to each other, and after a few stumbling attempts, you manage a successful box step without box stepping on Ganeshan’s toes.
“YOU’RE GETTING THE HANG OF IT NOW,” Ganeshan encourages you. Soon enough, the slow song ends and you pop into the line of a nearby ice cream stand to buy celebratory ‘we survived this dance’ cones.
As you take a seat and begin to eat your ice cream, Ganeshan strikes up a conversation.
“THIS WAS FUN. I ENJOY GETTING TO USE MY DANCER SKILLS FOR MORE THAN JUST SUPPORT IN BATTLES.”

The bands begin to pack up their instruments for the evening as the sky darkens into night. The two of you begin the walk back to the airship station.
Ganeshan pauses. “IF YOU WILL PARDON MY ASKING, WHY DID YOU ASK ME HERE TONIGHT?
"-I want to learn to dance.
-Isn't that what you're supposed to do?
-I wanted to see you in action!"

If this was a manga, your eyes would be on fire. Ganeshan’s eyes would be little hearts.

“O-O-OF COURSE,” he says as he straightens back up. He offers you his hand as the two of you walk to your ship.

As you part ways, you feel like you missed the mark. Sure, Ganeshan-sempai is your friend, and enjoys spending time with you, but you don't feel like you truly connected this time.
